The Harvey Public Library has been dubbed one of the most haunted destinations in all of North Dakota. Before it operated as a library, the building was a residence that was owned by the Bentz family. In the 1930s, Sophia Eberlein-Bentz was bludgeoned to death as she slept by her own husband, Jacob Bentz. Although he tried to cover up the crime and say Sophia died in a car accident, he ended up being arrested and convicted of the murder. Rumor has it that Sophia's ghost has never left the building. In fact, the librarian's office is located directly over the site of the bedroom where Sophia was murdered in cold blood. Some of the haunting reports at the Harvey Public Library include books falling from shelves after being pushed by unseen hands, and an odd occurrence with a computer screen. Supposedly one morning, a big "S" appeared on the computer screen in a font that did not exist. Sounds like someone wants to make herself known!
